Privacy Policy
How Movesel collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Last updated: 25 October 2026
1. Who we are
Movesel Ltd (“Movesel”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a moving and relocation company registered in England & Wales. Our registered office is 17 High St, Three Bridges, RH10 5FF.
We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. This means we decide how and why it is used. We handle your information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What information we collect
We collect only what we need to give you a quote and carry out your move. Based on how you deal with us, this may include:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- The addresses you are moving from and to, including postcodes, and any access details such as floors, stairs, lifts or parking.
- Details of your move, such as the date, the size of the property, the items to be moved and any extra services you ask for.
- The messages you send us through our website forms, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp.
- Website usage data, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and how you found us, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Prepare and send you quotes, and answer your enquiries.
- Arrange, plan and carry out your move, including scheduling crews and vehicles.
- Provide customer service, including updates about your booking and help if something goes wrong.
- Keep records, handle payments and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
- Understand how our website is used so that we can improve it and keep it secure.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Our lawful bases
Under data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We rely on the following:
- Contract: where we need your information to give you a quote at your request or to carry out a move you have booked with us.
- Legal obligation: where we must keep records or share information to comply with the law, for example tax and accounting rules.
- Legitimate interests: where it is reasonably necessary to run and improve our business, answer enquiries, keep our website secure and protect our legal rights, and your interests do not override ours.
- Consent: where you have agreed, for example when you tick a box on our forms or accept non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Who we share your information with
We only share your information where we need to, and only the details that are needed. This may include:
- Our crews and trusted subcontractors who carry out or assist with your move.
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email, payment and IT support providers. They may only use your information on our instructions.
- Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where the law requires it or where we need to protect our rights.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is ever sold or reorganised. The new owner would be bound to protect your information in line with this policy.
We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy. As a guide, enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 12 months. Records of completed moves, invoices and payments are kept for up to 7 years to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it securely.
7. How we keep your information secure
We take appropriate technical and organisational steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include secure website connections, password protection, limiting access to those who need it, and confidentiality requirements for our staff and subcontractors. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances.
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your information in certain circumstances.
- Portability: ask us to give you your information in a commonly used format, or to pass it to another provider, where this applies.
- Objection: object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you have given us, at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 12. We will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first. There is normally no charge.
9. Cookies
Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. Some are essential and make the site work. Others help us understand how the site is used so that we can improve it. Where the law requires, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
10. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we use your information, please contact us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator. You can find out how at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
